Brief History of District Court Etawah-
In the pre-independence period the District and Sessions Judge, Mainpuri, used to exercise jurisdiction over Etawah.The Court of Civil Judge (J.D.) came in to being in the year 1902. The court of Civil Judge (SD) was created in the year 1926.The district of Etawah was taken out of the jurisdiction of the District Judge of Mainpuri and started functioning as a separate Judgeship from August 1, 1958.The Court of District and Sessions Judge came in to existence in the year 1958 and since then the same is in operation.
